Lucien Adrion was born and raised in Strasbourg, France. He made his way to Paris to study fine art at an early age and distinguished himself as a painter of Parisian landscapes and rural beach scenes. Also a noted watercolorist, Adrion’s first major exhibition, the first of many, was at the Salon des Indépendents in 1926. His colorful career spanned both World Wars, returning again and again to the singular and evolving atmosphere of the City of Light.
